Food security, in conversation across borders.
The Global Farmers Forum connects farmer organizations with the science, enterprise and international relationships that shape agricultural opportunity. Its history begins in Yiwu in 2022.

Yiwu: building the cooperation network.
The inaugural congress and associated farmers forum met at Senshan Health Town in Yiwu on 15–16 December 2022. Representatives participated in person and online. The programme combined the formation of the first executive and youth committees with discussion of the digital economy and modern agriculture.
A farmers cooperation initiative gave the meeting a shared statement of direction. The historical record uses World Peasant Association, the association’s former name.
Guangzhou: bringing production and markets together.
On 2 November 2023, the second forum met at Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center. Food security and agricultural trade framed discussions about technology, greener production and the connection between producers and buyers.
Brazilian participant CONAFER recorded exchanges on family farming and visits to agricultural institutions. Its delegation continued to the Shanghai import expo, where it presented Brazilian agricultural products. The visit illustrates how a forum can bring agricultural knowledge and market discovery into the same journey.

Limassol: cooperation in an agricultural landscape.
The main Cyprus forum took place in Limassol on 4 November 2024, within a wider programme of visits and exchange. The association reported an agricultural cooperation memorandum with the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Vineyard visits added a practical setting for discussing agriculture, local products and rural tourism. The inaugural short-video and photography awards also brought the experience of rural communities into the programme. A separate seminar followed at the Agricultural University of Athens on 7 November.

Vientiane and Macao: two settings, one agricultural dialogue.
The fourth forum met successively in Vientiane on 3 November and Macao on 4 November 2025. Lao News Agency KPL described dialogue on sustainable agriculture, forestry and international cooperation in Vientiane.
Macao’s programme turned to digital trade, green cold chains and sustainable finance. The association published the Macau Consensus as a nonbinding framework for continuing cooperation. The dual-city format placed agricultural production and the movement of goods within one discussion.
