The encounter

The story of the exchange.

The first GSSA brought together representatives from more than 40 countries. The association’s reports describe contributions on African agriculture, sustainable production in Peru, land and water management in Australia, and agricultural conditions in Norway, Ukraine, Timor-Leste and Laos.

The programme connected national experience with agricultural technology, investment and the environmental responsibilities of production. Opening presentations, panel discussions and recognition of participating speakers formed part of a shared forum for international exchange.

The summit established a sustainable-agriculture series distinct from the Global Farmers Forum. Its discussions continued through later GSSA gatherings in Hainan and Anhui.
