Zheng Wenjun: a portrait of rural Zhejiang
Zheng Wenjun’s first-prize rural photography feature looks at the landscape, production and traditions of his home region. The portfolio connects mist-covered villages, cultivated slopes, tea markets, river life and community celebrations through images taken over several years.
Chinese and English profiles were published on 3 and 4 June 2025. This is a multi-year portfolio; capture places and dates are taken from source image metadata.

A former finance professional, Zheng began photographing in 2015 and continued after retirement. His competition work explored the beauty of rural environments, daily life, agricultural production and folk traditions.
The accompanying portfolio includes Songyang and Qingtian villages, bayberry cultivation, a tea market, Suichang tea fields, a river scene in Wuyi and Yunhe’s dragon celebration. The captions follow individual image metadata rather than treating every photograph as the same location or event.
