The association introduced Zhang as a grand-prize recipient in the inaugural Quannongtai Cup. His approach combines preparation, local cultural knowledge and attention to fleeting light, with photography becoming a major part of his retirement.
The portfolio moves from Inner Mongolia’s desert lakes and poplar woodland to Guangxi’s karst villages and terraces, Xinjiang’s pastoral migration and a Miao festival in Guizhou. Each photograph keeps its source-identified place and date; the certificate portrait is presented separately.
