A first international gathering in Yiwu
The association’s first international conference opened in Yiwu in December 2022. Bringing participants together in person and online, it established committees, released a cooperation initiative and explored how digital tools could support modern agriculture and farmer livelihoods.

The conference opened on 15 December 2022 at Senshan Health Town in Yiwu, Zhejiang. The historical account records a first members’ representative meeting and the election of the association’s inaugural Executive Committee and Youth Committee.
An accompanying farmers forum examined the convergence of the digital economy and modern agriculture. Contributions addressed agricultural modernization, digital payment systems, the exchange of practical knowledge and opportunities to improve the value of farm production.
The meeting’s cooperation initiative framed agriculture as a foundation of food security and peaceful development. The organization was then using the World Peasant Association name, retained in the event’s original signage.
