A sustainable blue economy in focus
WFA representatives participated in the fifth global maritime cooperation and ocean-governance symposium in Sanya. The symposium opened in Sanya, Hainan, on 26 November 2024. The association’s report records participation by its foreign-affairs representatives in a wider meeting of researchers, officials, international organizations and maritime institutions.
WFA’s contribution addressed sustainable development of the blue economy and the importance of environmental, social and governance practices. The discussion considered shared marine resources, the responsibilities of enterprises and Hainan’s potential role in sustainable ocean-economy development.
