A Shanghai meeting with a Palestinian municipal representative explored agriculture under severe water, energy and supply constraints. The March 2024 discussion considered irrigation, soilless cultivation, green energy and small-scale processing as possible routes to more resilient local production and livelihoods.

The association met a representative of Kafr Al-Deek in Shanghai on 21 March 2024. The report describes the difficulties facing agriculture, including restrictions on water and energy supply and dependence on external agricultural products.
Participants discussed water-saving irrigation and soilless cultivation, adapting production to local climate and resources, and the possible use of greener energy. Small-scale food-processing facilities were also considered as a means of adding value locally. These were cooperation topics, not reported completed projects.
